Murphy Children’s Hospital, Inova Children’s provides comprehensive medical services in more than 40 subspecialties who focus on the unique treatment of younger patients at locations across Northern Virginia. With your support, we can help create lasting change and provide the best care possible to every child who enters their doors!
Inova L.J. Murphy Children’s Hospital is home to the largest, most comprehensive subspecialty neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) in the region, recently named one of the best NICUs in the country! The 108-bed, Level IV NICU cares for high-risk infants requiring specialized care and observation. Within the NICU is the region’s only Small Baby Unit, a subspecialized unit for Very Low Birth Weight Infants. This unit holds 15 dedicated rooms and provides babies born before 29 weeks or weighing less than 1500 grams with specialized medical care.
The pediatric emergency rooms at Inova Children’s provide specialized emergency care with board-certified pediatric emergency physicians and specially-equipped pediatric ERs. Inova Loudoun Hospital has the only dedicated pediatric emergency department in Loudoun County!
Inova Children’s Emergency Room (ER) at Fairfax Hospital is the most comprehensive pediatric ER in the region and provides family-friendly emergency care in a redesigned, spacious facility tailored to your child’s needs. The expanded pediatric ER (completed in 2024) features a dedicated entrance on Blue Road and a welcoming environment to make visits comfortable for both children and families.
In addition to life-changing healthcare provided to all children in Northern Virginia regardless of ability to pay, many of the services that Inova provides are not covered by insurance, including Child Life Services.
